Qatar International Boat Show 2015 is set to be biggest yet

Todays Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS), which will run until the 14^th November and held at Mourjan Marinas in Lusail City, promises to outperform its predecessors in both size and scope.

Inaugurated by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Jassim Bin Mohamed Al Thani, the minister of economy and trade, QIBS 2015 is expecting 15,000 visitors, 120 exhibitors and will feature no less than 85 boats on display including seven luxury superyachts.

Pantelis Stathis, boat show director commented, “QIBS has been facilitating deals between Qatari companies and international agencies, very much in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, to position the country as a world-class tourism hub for business, leisure, culture, education and sport.”

Many exhibitors at QIBS 2015 are already household names in the maritime industry, from Azimut and Ferretti, to Heesen Yachts and Mondo Marine. There will also be a host of exciting events throughout the week including awards, cruises and dedicated exhibitor parties.

Faysal Mikati, founder and CEO of the show’s organiser SnowComms added, “QIBS has been at the forefront of attracting interest in the growing maritime sector. This is leading to the continuous and accelerated growth of the country’s manufacturing industry, which means that it is already a worthy competitor to other major countries and manufacturers around the world.”

Abdulaziz Al Zeyara, a director at Lusail Real Estate Investment Company believed it was only fitting that QIBS be held at Lusail Marina, “Lusail Marina is viewed as one of the top marinas attracting boating aficionados in the region. The people of Qatar have always been known for their great passion for sea activities and Lusail Marina is a true reflection of that passion.”

QIBS 2015 will run from the 10^th to 14^th November, with the official opening ceremony from 8pm to 8.30pm. It will then open from 2.30pm to 9.30pm for the first three days and 12.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday and Saturday. Throughout the week there will also be exclusive private yacht viewings for VIP guests.
