Quantum Marine looks forward to new international headquarters

Quantum Marine will be consolidating several of its departments and adding dozens of jobs once it moves into its international headquarters, which is currently being constructed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The company, which manufactures stabilising technology for vessels between 50 and 200 metres long, broke ground when they announced they are moving into a new 30,000sqm facility.

Stated for completion in summer 2016, it will be home to Quantum Marine Engineering and Quantum Controls, which are both related companies that make hydraulic and stabilising technology for superyachts.

Mark Armstrong, spokesman at Quantum Marine said currently, the company has 100 workers across the world and about 50 workers in Fort Lauderdale. About 75 new positions will be added at the new office over the next five years.

The company formed in 1985 and moved to Fort Lauderdale from Newport, Rhode Island in 2003 with just 17 workers.

John Allen, president of Quantum Marine commented, "We have seen the superyacht industry grow considerably over the past ten years, not only in sheer numbers, but the size and sophistication of the vessels along with the products they use. To maintain our continued expansion we have focused our efforts on both product development and client services. All of which is made possible by the careful selection of talented employees. If a company wants to stay at the top of its industry it has to realise the expectations of its customers."
