Quaynote and Oceda to produce East Mediterranean Superyacht Forum 2017

Communications firm Quaynote Communications and yacht agents Oceda are set to produce this year's Eastern Mediterranean Superyacht Forum, it has been revealed. The full programme has been released for the event at the NJV Athens Plaza Hotel in Greece on June 1st.

The conference brings together superyacht experts from all over Europe to discuss and debate the future of the superyacht industry, offering delegates the chance to receive insights from leading speakers. The main focus of this year’s conference is the rising attraction of the eastern Mediterranean with the increase of taxation in Western Europe.

The East Mediterranean Superyacht Forum will be jointly produced by Quaynote Communications, the producers of Opportunities in Superyachts, the annual conference in Malta, and Oceda S.A., the new Greece-based yacht services company managed by Jennifer Timinis, formerly of Hill Dickinson.

According to the programme, the day will follow the subsequent agendas: ‘Geopolitical trends and their impact on the superyacht industry’; ‘Global Superyacht Sales and Projections’; ‘Cruising around the East Mediterranean’; ‘Examining the restrictions on chartering’; ‘Cabotage in Greece’ and ‘Marina Developments: Greek Marinas and the challenges facing marina developers worldwide’.

Speakers at the event include Vassilis Fotilas, commercial director for Fraser, Michel Chryssicopoulos, partner for IYC and Paul Cook, general manager for OneOcean Port Vell.

The conference is chaired by Michael Dunkerly of Tethys, Oceda’s sister company involved in marina development.

The day is expected to attract yacht brokers, yacht managers, marina operators, lawyers, associations, captains, owners’ representatives and other professionals with a strong interest in what the future holds for the eastern Mediterranean as a superyacht hub and destination.
