Red Yacht Design reveals superyacht concept ‘Stella’

Red Yacht Design Turkish design studio has revealed its latest concept design for the 50m futuristic superyacht, Stella.

Designed specifically for Mengi-Yay Yachts, Stella has been designed to weigh in just below the 500GT mark, and will be completed with a construction time of just 24 months.

With what Red Yacht Design deems to be a “sleek silhouette” with “sophisticated and continuous exterior styling lines”, she has unusual exterior styling and large exterior windows that focus on allowing plenty of natural light in to the superstructure. This is combined with an interior of “soft and natural tones”.

According to the studio, “The result of an unusual approach for the exterior styling, [the] wheelhouse has windows which are extended out of the superstructure for [a] better view and natural daylight. Also, the skylight being located at the top of the master cabin spa has the same design approach for getting more natural light inside.”

On board, Stella has 280m2 of open space, with a large beach club area aft on the main deck which includes a large swimming pool, and a lounge area with “differently levelled” sunbeds. Below this, there is a garage for Jet Skis, diving equipment, water toys and a superyacht tender.

In the standard design, the upper deck houses a sundeck area with glass doors that can open to integrate with the neighbouring lounge area when entertaining.

Alternative layout options means that the master suite can either be placed forward on the main deck, allowing for full use of the yacht’s beam, or on the upper deck alongside the wheelhouse, reallocating it as an owner’s deck with it’s own private terrace leading outside on to the aft deck.

Also on board are four guest cabins on the lower deck, with crew accommodation located forward.

In a recent press release, Red Yacht Design explained that privacy and comfort is the main approach of the alternative layout. The master cabin encompasses an office, dressing room, bathroom and spa, with two side balconies to either side. These, along with the skylight, give the owner’s spa plenty of natural light and space.

Designed in steel with an aluminium superstructure, Stella has a semi-displacement fast hull form which gives her a maximum speed of 24 knots, powered by two M90 2720kw MTU main engines. Her fuel capacity of 60,000 litres gives her a predicted range of 3,000nm.
