Remotely piloted helicopters compliant for naval ships

The remotely piloted helicopters supplied by MSS - Maritime Security Solutions B.V comply with Mil-Std 461E/F-RS103.  This means the helicopters can now be operated safely from naval ships and do not interfere with any radio communications and radar radiations.

Remotely piloted helicopters are a valuable addition to a superyachts’ onboard sensors and equipment. Without the need for a large helicopter platform the helicopters can be operated from very limited deck spaces.  It will give superyachts’ crews unmatched detection and identification capacity.

With an endurance of eight hours at a cruising speed of 60 knots; the helicopters provide high capacity for search and rescue, general observation and other purposes.

The helicopters can be equipped with various gyro stabilized gimbals with a choice of sensors like thermal, daylight and high-definition cameras.

The ground control station displays the GPS waypoint flight plan and is equipped with instrument telemetry such as flight attitude, altitude, airspeed indicators.  It comes with a data selectable display with engine status and various alarms.  There are simple controls for auto or manual takeoff, landing, hover and cruise flight.  With the “take command” feature operators can easily switch from autonomous to manual flight.  The control and video relay range is up to 10 nautical miles.  With an optional follow antenna, the helicopter can be tracked well beyond that range.  A “lost link capability” allows for automatic return of the helicopter to the starting point.

MSS assists to tailor the design and construction of unmanned helicopters to budget and requirement. MSS supervises the design and commissioning process and sees to it that the actual performance and looks match customers’ high expectations.

The helicopters are available for demonstrations and trials at the MSS demo location in the Netherlands.
