Riva has teased the release of its newest superyacht model, Riva 90, ahead of its scheduled delivery date in 2018.
The 28.5m vessel is the result of a collaboration between Riva and long-time design partner Officina Italiana Design. It is thought she will boast similar speeds to her smaller and larger sisters.
Chief designer, Mauro Micheli, explained, “In terms of its dimensions and other factors, the Riva 90 is the natural evolution of a flybridge yacht of a decade ago, the Riva 85 Opera.
“Clearly, however, Riva 90 mirrors an aesthetic direction that we embarked upon in very recent times and, as a Fly, comes in the wake of two vessels enjoying huge success: the Riva 100 Cosaro and Riva 110 Dolcevita.”
Her design is described as having “distinctive features that are all our [Riva’s] own, rather than striving for cutting-edge solutions at all costs.”
One noticeable design feature is the use of more glass for hull windows, which benefits the saloon and owner’s stateroom forward on the main deck, as well as the captain and crew’s wheelhouse. The décor throughout is believed to have a more nautical feel than those of its predecessors.
Riva 90 provides a number of guest capacity options; Hull number one will possess four cabins below decks, a combination of queens/VIPs and twins, however Riva also has a five-stateroom layout.
She will be powered by standard MTU 12V 2000 M96L engines for a max speed of 26 knots and a 22-knot cruising speed with a range of 320nm. Hull number one also includes the optional MTU 16V 2000 M93 diesel engines for an even greater top speed.
