Rivergate Marina and Shipyard welcome a busy New Year

Rivergate Marina and Shipyard has announced some exciting new arrivals and departures for the first month of the New Year, thanks in part to Sevenstar’s yacht transport services.

Over the last three months, Rivergate’s project management team has been kept busy working with 40 metre motor yacht, Rasa. Custom built by Palmer Johnson yachts in 2001, this luxury superyacht accommodates 10 guests on board. The yard has been appointed to manage works to Rasa’s crane motor and brake, platform rails, guest cabins, electrics, hydrolic swim platform and more, in time for the new season.

Rivergate is also again working on a 50 metre Westport yacht, on her third visit to the yard. This vessel was built by Westport in 2001, and designed for entertaining, accommodates up to 12 guests in complete comfort. It was not all work and no play; no stranger to Rivergate, the crew joined the Rivergate team for various celebrations, including the Melbourne Cup.

Both the crew from Rasa and the 50m Westport attended the Rivergate Marina and Shipyard Christmas party while their vessels were undergoing work, enjoying an Aussie-style outdoor sausage sizzle with other crews, Rivergate tenants and, of course, the Rivergate team.

More recently, motor yacht Vantage joined the yards project list; a stunning 45 metre yacht, also constructed by Palmer Johnson. This luxurious superyacht boasts accommodation for 12 guests, as well as an outdoor Jacuzzi, bar, barbeque and several relaxation zones.

As a world-leader in yacht transport, Sevenstar Yacht Transport ensured that the three superyachts departed Rivergate safely last week, boarding the DYT Yacht Express to Costa Rica in Central America, via Auckland, New Zealand.

In making room at the yard, Rivergate welcomed 38 metre motor research vessel, Ocearch in. Run by not-for-profit organisation, Ocearch, this impressive vessel features an at-sea laboratory and custom research platform to assist in the gathering of previously unobtainable data through the tagging of great white sharks and other ocean predators.

On its second tour of Brisbane, the motor vessel’s operation and success is backed by the support of Hasting Deering/Caterpillar. Rivergate worked with the Hastings Deering to organise an exclusive event to continue the exceptional work and education offered by Ocearch, which saw over 80 of the organisations’ employees visit Rivergate and tour the vessel, after a formal presentation and catered lunch.
