Rossinavi launches superyacht project FR029 ‘Taransay’

On Saturday, Rossinavi launched its latest superyacht project, FR029, in an elaborate launch party, complete with traditional champagne sacrifice.

The 38.55 metre superyacht, ‘Taransay’, was greeted to the water by the owner’s family and friends, together with all the shipyard staff, at the ceremony which took place at the Rossinavi shipyard in Viareggio, Italy.

As a modern replica of a classic yacht from the early 1930’s, designed by Rossinavi and STB Italian, she showcases a perfectly painted dark blue and red steel and aluminium hull and a classic design, equipped advanced technology. She is powered by two Caterpillar C18 Acert 599kW which push her to a top speed of 14 knots, and achieves a range of 3,500nm at 12 knots.

With a beam of 7.60m, Taransay offers plenty of space both inside and outside, with a huge sundeck behind the wooden wheelhouse. She has a large owner’s suite, two twin cabins amidship and two further guest cabins located forward.

Considering that the yacht features a classic canoe stern, she offers direct access to the sea by a hinged platform that is hidden in the hull, starboard side. This is accessed by the boarding ladder.

Alain Tassin undertook the interior design of Taransay. He said, “The interiors look as classic as the exterior with a few contemporary touches provided by exquisite fabrics and materials such as leather tiles flooring in the owner cabin.”

Marco Santoro, captain of Taransay revealed that the owner fell in love with classic yachts after chartering Ocean Glory, a 26.40m classic motor yacht that was custom built in 1935 by Yarrow & Co, before being refitted in 2007 by Amico & Co S.r.l.

He said, “He decided to have his own classic yacht built and asked me to follow the whole process. The result fulfills his great expectations.”
