Royal Huisman sailing yacht Gliss relaunched after refit

The 32m Royal Huisman sailing yacht Gliss has been relaunched this month, after finishing a major refit this winter.

Gliss spent seven months back at the Dutch yard, with Royal Huisman adding that the project was completed on time and on budget.

Having previously sported a turquoise hull, Gliss has now been painted a new shade described as ‘whisper grey’. She is now due to begin sea trials, before being returned to her owner.

First launched back in 2006, Gliss is an aluminium sailing yacht featuring naval architecture and exterior design by Philippe Briand. Her interior, designed by the late Pieter Beeldsnijder, has been left largely unchanged.

An owner’s cabin plus a single, twin and double room accommodate seven guests, and a crew of four are accommodated for in the crew quarters.

A single Scania D12-65M engine provides a top speed of 13.5 knots, and a fuel capacity of 8,500 litres allows for a cruising range of 2,000nm at 10 knots.

Projects also nearing completion at the Dutch yard include 58m sailing yacht Ngoni, which was launched last month and has begun sea trials.
