The second hull created in collaboration between designer Nauta Yachts, naval architecture studio, Judel Vroliijk and yacht builder, Baltic Yachts, has been launched. The racer/cruiser superyacht, Judel Vroliijk Nauta Baltic (JVNB) 115’, follows the first hull 116’ S/Y Doryan.
According to Nauta, the challenge to design the JVNB 115’ yacht was extremely interesting, binding some ‘key demands’ related to performance, elegance and comfort. Due to the yachts balanced deck, hull lines and light displacement of only 88 tons, JVNB has been designed for competitive racing and leisure cruising.
As a result of computational fluid dynamic (CFD) studies, the 115’ yacht’s hull is able to meet the customer’s request to race with success due to the use of prepay carbon, a sail plan and well-thought out stability, achieved by the lifting keel extending from 3.65m up to 5.85m.
Race orientated hardware and systems, including the transversal hydraulically controlled jib sheeting, features on board, which allows fore and aft as well as inboard/outboard jib trimming.
Following her sister yacht Doryan, and preparing for Reichel Pugh Nauta Baltic (RPNB) 130’, the JVNB yacht represents the latest by Nauta Design in the racer/cruiser sailing yachts category.
