Singapore based manufacturer of maintenance and repair products, SealXpert have completed repair work on a United States Navy ship that was facing corrosion problems in the seawater pipeline.
A cost effective solution was sort for the repair, with the ship due to be decommissioned in approximately 5 years. Specialising in corrosion repair application on seawater pipelines, SealXpert provided the solution.
For the corrosion repair, Seal Stic™ steel epoxy was applied to build up the pitted corrosion area, then Wrap Seal PLUS™ activated resin was coated onto the pipe surface. Finally Wrap Seal PLUS™ fiberglass repair tape was applied onto the coated pipe for reinforcement.
