Silver Yachts 77m aluminium superyacht receives industry acclaim

Making her industry debut at the recent Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), 77m Silver Yachts superyacht, Silver Fast, received recognition for her innovative design and performance, collecting the prestigious Finest New Yacht award.

Designed by Espen Oeino, Silver Fast is the world’s largest and fastest aluminium superyacht with conventional propulsion. Now listed for sale with Burgess Yachts at $89 million, her design ensures that she is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 27 knots, with a cruising speed of up to 20 knots.

As the fourth boat in the multi-award winning series by Silver Yachts, Silver Fast’s cruising capabilities saw her cruise from her location in the Silver Yachts shipyard in Australia to the Monaco Yacht Show in Port Hercule in three weeks, using one tank of fuel.

She is finished in a dark silver paint, which accentuates her sleek lines and performance capabilities. Her lightweight construction and shallow draft of 2.6m allow her to enter areas that are otherwise off limits to many vessels of comparable size.

Silver Fast accommodates up to 18 guests across eight cabins, with a crew of 18. Vain Interiors are responsible for her contemporary interior design, which offers an owner’s suite with lounge and private deck, plus three further VIP guest cabins, and one double and three twin cabins.

Her sundeck features an outdoor cinema and a glass-fronted eight-person Jacuzzi. The beach club is also complete with an entertainment system, and a full spa area with steam room, gym, massage room and beauty salon.

Among her notable features, Silver Fast has a ‘winter garden’ on the aft deck with wraparound sliding glass panels and air conditioning. This offers the ability to seat 20 guests for indoor or outdoor dining. Her 25ft custom tender is stored behind unique gull wing doors forward, and there is a ‘touch-and-go’ helipad that can accommodate craft such as the Augusta 109 or Eurocopter EC135.

In a recent interview with Superyachts.com, Espen Oeino said of his award-winning series, “They’re a different concept, super-efficient, the volume is distributed longitudally rather than vertically so we can keep the beam down.

“They’re build with very light materials so we can reach good speeds with fairly modest power plants, and we can have exceptional fuel consumption figures with a nice cruising speed of 18 to 20 knots.”
