Singapore expands facilities for superyachts

Leading yacht agency, Yachting Singapore, has announced that Singapore has expanded its superyacht facilities by adding another 200m of berthing space for superyachts located in Cruise Bay.

The new wharf can accommodate two 100m superyachts at the same time, with water and electrical supply provided in-berth.  Heavy vehicles, up to 40’ container trailers, can drive up to the quayside, and forklifts, mobile cranes and underwater divers are some of the services available at the captain’s disposal.

Y H Fang, managing director of Yachting Singapore commented, “The bay area provides shelter from wind and waves. The approach channel has a minimum width of 100m and minimum depth of 11m. The channel is open 24/7 and it is not restricted by tidal condition. Being a CIQ site, round the clock security is provided by the wharf management. Public access is strictly controlled.”

Within walking distance of the berth, there are a range of restaurants, shops and supermarkets. It is located near public transport networks, such as a bus depot, subway station and regional ferry terminal and the downtown main shopping district is 20 minutes away by car.

Fang continued, “Cruise Bay is an ideal location for owners requiring privacy while being close to amenities where it is convenient for the crew to get ashore to a shop and provision the yacht. It provides secure berths for yachts in excess of 80m. Superyachts requiring a quayside facility for loading and unloading of heavy stores and equipment will have a viable alternative location to dock in Singapore.”
