Singapore Yacht Show welcomes record number of world debuts to Sentosa Cove

Coming to a close on Sunday 9th April, the four-day Singapore Yacht Show welcomed over 14,200 visitors and a grand total of 94 yachts to ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, including a record number of world and Asian debuts.

This year, the SYS line-up hit new milestones, with the largest ever yacht on display – the 77m Silver Fast. There was also a record number of world and Asian debuts from brands such as Boat Lagoon Yachting and the Ferretti Group.

Vrit Yongsakul, group managing director of Boat Lagoon Yachting and Princess Yachts South East Asia said, “It’s been a good show this year for Boat Lagoon Yachting – our biggest display of 13 luxury yachts has attracted a huge amount of interest from both seasoned and first-time buyers, particularly the Princess S60 which made her in-water world premier at the show.”

This year, the four-day show got underway in full sunshine, without any of the torrential downpours that Singapore is commonly known for. The show opened its doors from 03:00pm to 09:00pm this year, so that the cooler afternoons ran into the numerous evening cocktail parties hosted by Azimut, Ferretti Group, Princess Yachts, Simpson Marine and Sunreef.

According to Singapore Yacht Show, brokers, dealers and manufacturers on the docks all reported that visitor numbers felt as though they were well up from last year, with a really good ambiance enjoyed by all.

British brand Sunseeker returned to the 2017 show with an increased showcase, which included the brand new Sunseeker Manhattan 55; Azimut Yachts sold five boats ‘straight off the dock’; and Leopard Catamarans sold two boats.

Some delegates also enjoyed the Asia Pacific Yachting Conference and the Asia Boating Forum ahead of the Singapore Yacht Show, making it an informative five-day event and networking opportunity.

Dates have been announced for the 2018 as 12th to 15th April.
