Spaceship-style interior of debut ClubSwan 125 yacht revealed

The “spaceship” interior of Nautor’s Swan’s debut ClubSwan 125 yacht has been revealed.

Monk Design is responsible for the interior design, accommodation and layout, all of which have changed significantly since they were initially announced.

Working in collaboration with naval architect Juan Kouyoumdjian, the owner’s tea, skipper and the yard, Monk has introduced a “light-weight luxury capsule”, in-keeping with the yacht’s “revolutionary” style, according to the yard.

ClubSwan 125’s design and layout “challenges the traditional approach”, resulting in a unique and innovative interior.

Giovanni Pomati, Nautor’s Swan chief executive, spoke earlier this year at Boot Dusseldorf, stating that the “initial brief was the fastest superyacht ever built.”

He explained that various modifications have been made to make sure the vessel has capabilities to break transatlantic records.

Pomati said, “The level of quality and technology is setting a new frontier. The proportions and loads applied have challenged us into doing something that has never been done.”

The yacht’s naval architecture and exterior design features a single curved foil that offers sideways and vertical lift in a number of conditions. This will reduce the drag of the hull and loss of dynamic righting movement.

ClubSwan 125’s canting keel will provide the maximum righting movement with least weight impact.

Commenting that the new model would be “the fastest monohull ever conceived,” Juan Kouyoumdjian, naval architecture and exterior designer, stated, “The complete trust of the owner and his desire to create a high-performance superyacht are the perfect ingredients for a designer.

“We can’t have a better environment and I think we are doing something that will set a milestone in the sailing world.”

Currently undergoing construction at Nautor’s Swan’s Finnish yard, ClubSwan125 is due to launch in mid-2020.
