The Fujinon Stabiscope ONYX is available in three versions:

1) With XD4 ONYX tubes - The introduction of the XD4 technology set a new European standard for low-light-level imaging.  XD4 Image Intensifiers perform well in all environmental conditions.  New production technology resulted in improved performance of the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), the Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) and Resolution.  

2) With XD4 autogating ONYX tubes - Same as above with additional Auto-Gating (ATG) power supply unit.  ATG function was designed to improve the Bright Source Protection (BSP) feature to be faster and to keep the best resolution and contrast at all times.  ATG is a unique feature that operates constantly, electronically reducing the “duty cycle” of the photocathode voltage by very rapidly switching the voltage on and off.  This maintains the optimum performance of the tube, continuously revealing mission critical details, safeguarding the tube from additional damage and protecting the user from temporary blindness.

3) With XR5 autogating ONYX tubes - The XR5™ Image Intensifier reveals more details of the night and offers extended range capabilities.  The prominent feature on the XR5 is the integrated ATG power supply, facilitating operation under dynamic lighting conditions.
