In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
World-renowned yacht designer Kurt Strand has unveiled details of his most recent Strand Craft concept: the 135-metre (443-foot) superyacht California.
The US-based, Norwegian designer’s latest project will present numerous bold and unique features, including a cinema which sits up to 24 people, a bowling alley and a classic car collection showroom. It also boasts a gaming room, nightclub and a lounge area complete with its own bar.
The ‘zen-inspired’ yacht interior will contain various koi ponds and a wellness area consisting of a gym, spa, massage studio and Turkish bath. California’s interior will be decorated with reclaimed wood and natural stone materials, along with inside wall waterfalls and aquariums.
The vessel will have a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with its exterior featuring glass walls, balconies and doors.
Key features include three swimming pools located on the aft of two decks, which will create a waterfall flowing down the stern. A surf riding machine will also feature within one of the yacht’s pools, contributing to the superyacht’s California name.
A spa pool will sit on the foredeck of the yacht, forward of the helicopter pad.
The enormous concept will be capable of accommodating up to 24 guests and 50 crew members.
A hybrid electric propulsion system will enable California to cruise at a reduced speed of 11 knots over a five-hour period, utilising power provided by a 60-tonne battery bank.
