Superyacht SEA EAGLE II spreads her wings

Superyacht SEA EAGLE II has flown the nest of which was home since she was created at Royal Huisman ‘s shipyard in Vollenhove.

The colossal 81-metre (266 -foot) schooner is truly a breath-taking achievement, and a dream come true for the owner of its predecessor, Royal Huisman’s 43-metre (142-foot) SEA EAGLE, delivered in 2015.  SEA EAGLE II is the yard’s largest ever yacht to be made; a grand creation by Dykstra Nava Architects and designer Mark Whitely.

Royal Huisman has, without a doubt, kept to its mantra ‘If you can dream it, we can build it’.

The valiant creation has space for 12 guests across six staterooms, and of course, one VIP suite to add extra luxury for its proud owner.  In addition, there is a formal dining room and lounge, with a large alfresco dining area and sundeck for the ultimate relax. 13 crew also have accommodation upon the SEA EAGLE II. This truly is a magnificent spectacle, and amongst the top ten largest yachts ever.

The SEA EAGLE II, a.k.a Project 400, will be the world’s largest aluminium sailing yacht with an imposing overall length and sturdy plumb bow, making her not only powerful but also renowned across the world.  She is set to be delivered to her owner early this year, and is on schedule for her carbon composite Rondal Panamax rig to be installed upon launch at Royal Huisman Amsterdam to ready her for sea trials and on-board crew training.

In total, 21 yachts were either new constructions or refit projects for Royal Huisman and Husfit in 2019, and the team is now more flexible capacity wise than ever before, working in close collaboration with selected and highly qualified co-makers for specific projects in Vollenhove, Amsterdam and flexible locations. These partnering companies work closely together with Royal Huisman’s in-house team.

Royal Huisman prides itself on consistently advancing all essential superyacht skills and knowledge in design, engineering and production in-house.

It is, of course, always a special and emotional moment to say farewell before a superyacht leaves her home in Vollenhove, but a glorious achievement to send off such a beauty.
