Tankoa launches 50m S501 superyacht Binta d’Or

Italian yard Tankoa has launched its 50-metre (164-foot) S501 hybrid superyacht Binta d’Or in Genoa.

The new sub-500GT vessel, which shares the same naval architecture as Vertige, the first yacht in Tankoa’s 50-metre series, will now undergo a final fit out and sea trials before delivery in June. Binta d’Or will then be on display at Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Her interiors come from Italian studio Francesco Paszkowski Design, in collaboration, with Margherita Casprini, which boasts light, modern tones and a range of natural materials. Exterior design also comes from the drawing boards of Francesco Paszkowski.

Despite the similarities with the Vertige platform, Binta d’Or sports a number of different characteristics – chiefly a hybrid propulsion package. Accommodation is for up to 10 guests across five cabins, while the galley is situated on the main deck rather than the lower deck.

Developed with the owner, the superyacht also features a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck, as well as an aluminium hull and superstructure.

The hybrid propulsion system consists of twin MTU 8V4000M54 engines and two 300kW electric motors, providing four operational ‘modes’ for the owners. These include DEM (diesel electric mode) for a top speed of 10.5 knots, hybrid model for a top speed of 12 knots, traditional mode for a top speed of 16.5 knots and full speed mode for a top speed of 18 knots.

In terms of amenities on board, Binta d’Or’s lower deck is equipped with a gym and beach club as well as two VIP cabins, two guest cabins and the crew quarters.

The master suite is located on the main deck alongside the cockpit, galley, dining room and saloon and boasts an office, lounge and fold-out terrace. The upper deck includes a number of al fresco relaxation areas, plus access to the sky lounge.
