Tankoa’s Vertige completes sea trials

Vertige, the first S501 series yacht by Tankoa Yachts, has completed her first sea trials.

In her first set of trials, which lasted eight hours, she exceeded her stated top speed of 16 knots to make 16.5. Construction first began in May 2015, and her delivery is due to take place before the end of this month.

Vertige also had sound readings of under 50 decibels in the owner’s suite, whilst cruising along at 12 knots. Edoardo Ratto, general manager at Tankoa Yachts said, “The first sea trials, which lasted about eight hours, were simply incredible. S501 has a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, which really makes a difference when going for Atlantic crossings.”

Albert McIlroy, the owner’s representative said, “With S501, the shipyard has greatly improved their time schedule management and operation processes. They truly have a ‘Teutonic’ approach that often leaves me speechless for an Italian builder.”

Vertige’s interior and exterior styling was completed by Francesco Paszkowski, who designed the yacht to come in under 500GT, with a lightweight displacement hull. Standout features on board Vertige include her fold-out balconies in the master stateroom, floor to ceiling windows, and three outdoor dining areas.

In addition to this, Vertige features a gym, home cinema and teak-finished tender garage on board, able to house a seven-metre rib, which can then convert into a spacious beach club.

Accommodation is available for up to 12 guests on board, with owner and master suites located on the main deck, and four guest cabins on the lower deck. Her interior was designed in collaboration with designer Margherita Casprini.
