The USP Profile launches at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show

The USP Profile went live at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show last week, assisting yacht crew with a new approach to creating their resume. Incorporating digital technology, the Uniqueness, Skills and Personality (USP) Profile goes beyond the traditional paper resume, allowing candidates to showcase their personality alongside their credentials.

Driven by recruitment specialists in the yachting industry, the content of the USP Profile has, according to the brand, been carefully considered to help crew and recruiters to find the right placement in a rapidly growing and fast-paced recruitment market.

Crew are guided through completing each element of the USP Profile, which includes a video presentation, photos, written introduction, role aspirations, professional history, education, skill ratings, personality presentation and references. Once complete, the profile can be shared via a unique URL, or downloadable PDF, in a structure which is easy for recruiters to navigate and compare.

Jens Oomes, founder of the USP Profile explained, “Personality is crucial when evaluating a candidate for a front-end position, working with guests and fellow crew. However, having the x-factor just does not stand out on paper. Our vision is to establish the USP Profile as an industry standard resume format for crew to tell recruiters who they are, not just what they are.”

Louise Homewood, a chief stewardess, believes that the USP Produle will result in more successful crew placements, “This is a great way of getting an accurate profile of crew. So often because of personality clashes crew move on. I’m all for it.”

Crew can use the basic version of the profile for free, or upgrade to an annual premium profile to access additional features.
