Tiwal launches latest luxury superyacht water toy

Leading superyacht water toy designer Tiwal has launched its latest luxury little boat Tiwal 2.

Following the success of the previously released Tiwal 3, which has amassed a total of 1,000 sales to date, Tiwal 2 is an inflatable sailing dinghy that is even lighter and more compact than its predecessor, and is ready to sail in 15 minutes.

In a release, Tiwal stated its intention to make Tiwal 2 the essential toy aboard cruising boats.

Designed and developed by Marion Excoffon, the single-handed 2.8-metre dinghy is equipped with a loose-footed sail of 60 square feet. It can carry up to one adult and one child (or two children), weighs 88lbs (40kg) and comes in two bags – which allows for easy stowing on board.

Dubbed a ‘plug and play’ dinghy, Tiwal 2 is assembled in 15 minutes and in five stages: hull inflation, inserting the daggerboard well, installing the rig, the appendages and then finished off with a final few strokes of the pump.

The drop-stitch hull is very stiff when fully inflated to a high pressure. Its innovative inflatable wings offer maximum comfort in established wind conditions.

Tiwal 2 has been designed to help superyacht captains provide fun water sport activities for guests and crew, who are always keen to explore and set sail when the boat is at anchor.

A key feature is its stability, which facilitates the ease with which beginners can pick up how to use it (adults and children alike); the inflatable wings allow for comfortable and reassuring initiation. Similarly, experienced sailors will appreciate the boat’s responsiveness and its playful side in established winds (up to 15-20 knots).

“I imagined an ultra-simple boat that goes to basics. It is at the same time a proper sailing boat and super fun toy to play on,” explained Marion. “I was inspired by boats with a Scow bow to get the best compromise between the liveability of the boat and compactness.”
