Triton receives ISS 2016 Excellence in Innovation Award

Luxury submersibles manufacturer Triton Submarines, is celebrating scooping the Excellence in Innovation award at the 26th annual ISS Design and Leadership Awards gala in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 

Signifying some of the best in the industry, the ISS accolade was awarded to Triton at the gala evening during the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) for demonstrating innovation in its endeavours.

According to Triton, “There is no substitute for direct observation”. Its luxury submersibles provide passengers with a unique and immersive experience, placing passengers in a clear acrylic sphere with the same optical qualities as seawater, seemingly disappearing when submerged to give passengers a completely immersive experience. 

Triton submersibles are among the most capable on the market, diving to some of the deepest depths, and Yachting Pages was lucky enough to join Dr Michael Haley (picture above, far left) of Triton’s Special Projects department on board Damen’s 55m Fast & Furious yacht support vessel at FLIBS to take a look around the 3300/3 MK II.

Other 2016 winners of ISS Distinction and Leadership Awards included John Allen of Quantum Marine Engineering as the Business Person of the Year; Captains Bill Zinser and David Tomlinson who collected the Distinguished Crew and ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Awards respectively; the Kay Rybovich Family who collected the ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award Legacy Tribute; and Jonathon Beckett, CEO of Burgess with the Leadership Award.
