Triton Technical and Great Circle Systems (GCS) have announced the planned merger of their business operations, offering even greater audio and visual, information technology and communications consulting, design and integration services to the superyacht industry.
GCS’ highly skilled team will operate under the Triton Technical brand.
“GCS is excited about the opportunity brought forth with the merger,” explained Darren Mayhead, CEO of GCS and 24-year veteran of the superyacht industry. Having served in the British Royal Navy as a Submarine Engineer, and then in the capacity of chief engineer on-board some of the most prestigious superyachts, Mayhead brings with him a unique skillset and operational perspective from the vessel side.
He added, “Our clients have a lot to gain from this merger as we can now offer true 24/7 and 365 remote support services, and additionally, we now have the added benefit of expanded AV, security and control core competencies to offer our clients, that we could not before. In addition, our support and service reach now extends into Europe which is something our clients have been pressing for.”
The merger is designed to bring forth an expanded service offering, increased responsiveness and efficiencies only made possible by growing the team with seasoned personnel.
Scott Strand, president of GCS, explained that the company has been in the IT and vessel management software business longer than any other company in the yacht industry and has seen a great evolution. “This merger is really exciting. We built our expertise in enterprise class IT systems and market leading operations software, coupled with great personal support.
“With the convergence of all-IP technology within our market, it makes a tremendous amount of sense to combine with Triton Technical and continue the evolution of expertise that we have been part of all along. We’ll be able to provide more of everything we do through this new team.”
23 years ago, Strand founded Great Circle Systems after being an active yacht captain for many years.

More than two decades ago, Denchik entered the superyacht arena as an integration engineer at Vulcan, Inc where he worked on the build team for Motor Yacht Octopus, designing one-of-a-kind, truly bespoke, cutting-edge entertainment and media ingestion solutions as a private technical engineer for the principal. This experience led to the formation of Triton Technical in 2004, bringing a new level of professional AV/IT integration to the superyacht industry.
