In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Superyacht training centre and charity UKSA, has announced a new partnership with the trade union for maritime professionals, Nautilus International.
According to a statement, the UKSA is ‘one of the world’s leading’ RYA and MCA training centres, while Nautilus International is a ‘leading professional trade union organisation for maritime professionals in the British, Dutch and Swiss shipping industries.’ Currently, Nautilus has over 22,000 members working within the global maritime industry and offers advice and support for superyacht crew, with an approach that ‘mirrors’ that of the UKSA.
Emma Baggett, UKSA cadetship manager said, “UKSA is delighted to become a strategic partner of Nautilus International. We do so in support of our ongoing commitment to our students to train, educate and prepare them for industry, with an understanding of safety, their legal rights and correct professional procedure.
“From March 2016, every PYC Cadet and Professional Yacht student leaving UKSA, will have access to all of the independent, impartial advice and assistance that Nautilus International’s services provide, which includes one year of full legal support.”
The UKSA revealed that the new partnership between the two organisations will be focused on the protection of all Professional Yacht Training students, including those on the UKSA’s flagship course, the Professional Yacht Cadetship, RYA Yachtmaster students and Interior training students.
Nautilus will deliver regular workshops onsite at the UKSA, and drop-in Q&A sessions for any professional yacht-training students. Danny McGowan from Nautilus commented, “Nautilus International is proud to partner with UKSA. Since both of our organisations put the safety and welfare of seafarers at the top of our agenda, it is natural that we share a lot of common ground.
“UKSA’s students will now be able to benefit from having the union’s industry-leading service record book, along with the legal support and workplace assistance essential for those working within the large yacht sector.
“As the global union for yacht officers and crew, and those working shore-side, we are uniquely placed to provide a truly valuable service to everyone in the sector.”
