Unfurled – the 46m sailing yacht from Dutch shipyard, Vitters – has finished first place in her class on day one of racing at St Barths this weekend, during her first race at the regatta.
The 46m yacht, launched last year, is competing in the regatta for the first time, fresh from a successful campaign in the 2016 Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta, where she achieved third place in her class overall.
Two fellow Vitters projects were also amongst the fleet at St Barths, in the Les Gazelles des Mers division. Galateia, created in collaboration with Green Marine, features a lightweight cruising interior, with a Reichel Pugh and Wallycena design, which sees her exceed 25 knots downwind. The 33m Inoui was also competing alongside Galateia.
Bella Ragazza – another Vitters build – came to the weekend after her first outing at the 2016 Loro Piana Caribbean Regatta. Despite a hard battle, Bella Ragazza couldn’t overcome the leaders, with Axia taking first place in the division.
With start times of 11.56 and 11.54 respectively, 45m Lady B, and 46m Ganesha were the last of their class over the line, and didn’t waste any time setting off in pursuit. Ganesha put in an aggressive performance; muscling her way past the fleet to take first in her class, followed by 38m P2.
