Van Der Valk releases details of raised pilothouse yacht project

Dutch yard Van Der Valk has revealed details of a 32-metre (105-foot) raised pilothouse motor yacht that is described as a “concept project”. If built, it would become the second largest yacht produced by the yard so far, behind the 36.8m (121ft) Santa Maria T.

The design and styling is the work of Nick Top and Guido De Groot, while the naval architecture was developed in house with a moderate-V hard chine hull shape.

In a statement, the yard commented, “This innovative yacht will meet highly demanding owner’s wishes and comes with a contemporary overall profile harmonised by understated classic elements.”

There is no indication as to how long the build would take, but the hull and superstructure would both be made from aluminium to RINA standards.

Accommodation is for up to nine guests across four cabins including a main-deck owner’s suite. On the lower deck, the VIP cabin would stretch across the entire 7.05m (23ft) beam, while a third double cabin and a twin cabin with a Pullman berth would complete the guest area layout. The crew quarters are for up to six staff.

Power would come from a pair of MTU 12V2000 M96L engines to give the 32m-pilothouse yacht an estimated top speed of 18 knots.

Other projects currently under development at the Dutch yard include the Cor D Rover-designed Beach Club series.
