Vripack reveals new 51 metre superyacht project

Vripack has revealed details of a new 51 metre superyacht concept; a steel and aluminium expedition motor yacht, named ‘Flow’.

With naval architecture and interior design undertaken in-house, Flow accommodates 10 guests in complete luxury, with handcrafted interior features and a wealth of rich materials, such as tactile natural oxidized copper and calfskin leather.

Robin de Vries and Joost Mertens, designers at Vripack explained, “With Flow, we wanted to create a yacht that stops you from turning the page. She features the most sought-after form which follows function, embraces our holistic philosophy and allows a stunning exterior and harmonious interior with cutting edge naval architecture.”

Two double and two twin guest cabins are located on the aft of the lower deck for complete comfort with the owner’s stateroom and formal salon with full height windows located on the main deck.

Also on the main deck, at the stern, is a protected panoramic winter garden with opening windows, which, when the tenders and toys are deployed, doubles up as a shaded outdoor living space extend from port to starboard. With the bulkwards folded down, this space offers a massive lounge and party area.

On the sun deck there is a BBQ and sports bar, as well as a forward facing lounge area with Jacuzzi and wind-protected sun loungers.

De Vries and Mertens continued, “With the power of global trends, we aim to spark debate and design the next generation of superyachts for the next generation of owners. For Flow, we used the trends transparency, layering and 3D-printing as inspiration.”

Designed by partner company, Vrithink!, the hull uses a unique layering technique, a key design feature usually reserved for racing cars, and the first example used in yacht design. An infinite orange line creates a space between the different surfaces.

She also showcases a customisable 3D-printed grid that embraces the windows and fairleads like an extra layer, and transparent design with ‘look outs’ that allow for a functional and luminious layout.

The hull accommodates 10 crew members in total, and is powered by twin Caterpillar C7.1 engines, giving her a cruising speed of 12 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots.
