Wider Yachts launches flagship superyacht Project Cecilia

Italian yard Wider Yachts has launched its flagship Wider 165 motor yacht Project Cecilia in Ancona, Italy, at a private event attended by shipyard staff, suppliers and collaborators.

The 49.98-metre (164-foot), all-aluminium vessel features interior and exterior design by Fulvio De Simoni, as well as creative input from Wider’s in-house team.

Project Cecilia has an eye-catching, elongated exterior profile, which ensures she stands out on the water.

Key features on board include a touch-and-go helipad, a submersible tender garage that can be converted into a beach club, and an indoor swimming pool. Her design incorporates plentiful space to store a number of toys.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests split across five cabins, including a main-deck master suite equipped with its own fold-out balcony. On the lower deck, two VIPs and two twin rooms with Pullman berths complete the guest layout. Meanwhile, the crew quarters can house up to 11 staff.

Power comes from a diesel-electric propulsion system, which includes two 531kW electric motors for a top speed of 14 knots and comfortable cruising at 13 knots. At the trimmed back speed of 10 knots, Project Cecilia has a maximum range of 5,400 nautical miles, while silent cruising is available at five knots thanks to a 544kWh battery bank.

The Wider Management System controls all on-board energy sources, managing the power supplied by the shore connection, gensets and battery packs, and distributing it between the hotel systems, propulsion system and recharging the battery packs when required.

Project Cecilia is listed for sale at €30 million and will be ready for delivery later this year.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the Wider 130, of which key details were released in August 2017.
