Williams & Smithells offer new brand of yacht

Williams & Smithells, the international yacht brokerage and UK agent for Allures Yachting, has taken on Garcia Yachting, its second brand of new yachts.

Famous internationally for building in aluminium, the Garcia Yachting Yard has more than 40 years history of building aluminium ocean cruisers, and with the support of the Grand Large Yachting Group, the group are looking to the future of world cruising.

The range covers the long distance trawler style motor yachts (54 & 64) as well as the sailing Exploration range (45 & 52, soon 60 & 65) for the tropics and high latitude sailing.  For those who want something a little different, the design team can custom-build a yacht to meet all requirements.

Mark Ellyatt, director of Williams & Smithells, said: “With Garcia Yachting part of the group Grand Large Yachting, that Allures Yachts belongs to, it was a straightforward option for us to go to. The whole group are going places having just acquired Alumarine work boats as well. Garcia Yachts, based in Normandy offers a truly eye opening experience and education in blue water boat building, and we are delighted to be able to make this announcement ahead of the 2014 boating season.”

Building a rounded aluminium hull is an art which can easily result in having to cover up imperfections and unwanted undulations, but at Garcia Yachting the workmanship is at such a high level the hulls require no modifications after build.

Garcia Yachting has recently been commissioned to build founder of the World Cruising Club and ARC, Jimmy Cornell's latest vessel to participate in his Blue Planet Odyssey in which he intends to navigate the infamous North West Passage this coming summer. The vessel is called the Garcia Exploration 45.

Jimmy Cornell will be delivering one of his cruising talks at the Cruising Association HQ on March 22 and 23. The event is sponsored by Grand Large Yachting.
