In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
The annual St Tropez to Monaco charity bike ride took place on Sunday 28th April to raise money for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation. All donations will go towards the development of water safety awareness programmes and help children learn to swim.
Organised by the Champagne and Oyster Cycling Club (COCC), this year's charity bike ride was once again joined by Yachting Pages Media Group CEO Steve Crowe.
Steve commented on the charity ride, “We had a bit of a wet start but everyone was in great spirits for the 130 km ride ahead. It was a fantastic day and I’m very proud to participate in such a worthwhile event.”
This year's event saw a total of 105 riders take part, with an estimated €100,000 raised so far to help develop water safety programmes across the world.
Some high profile riders who joined the event in its eighth year included former F1 drivers Mika Häkkinen and Thierry Boutsen, former pro cyclists Thor Hushovd, David Tanner and Calvin Watson, as well as Albert II, Prince of Monaco.
The Foundation’s mission is to raise public awareness of the dangers of water, to teach children about preventive measures and to teach them how to swim. A frightening statistic is that drowning is the third leading cause of unintentional injury/death worldwide accounting for 7% of all injury-related deaths.
