Advertising Services Ltd (ASL), publisher of Yachting Pages has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade Category.
The Queen’s Award is the most prestigious corporate accolade that a UK business can win, and was awarded to the Bristol-based Yachting Pages for more than doubling exports over three years. The judging panel congratulated Yachting Pages on an active website, regular participation in international boat shows and strong staff linguistic skills. 95% of Yachting Pages’ clients originate from over 60 different countries overseas, and the multi-lingual sales team includes French, Spanish, Italian and German speakers.
The annual publication, now in it’s sixth year has steadily grown in size and now comes in three separate volumes covering the Mediterranean, Europe, Africa and Middle East, Far East, Asia Pacific and Australasia, and USA, the Americas and Caribbean. Yachting Pages 2009/10 will be released in just a few weeks and references more than 18,000 companies over 1600 pages, with a print run of 100,000 copies.
On receiving the award, MD Steve Crowe acknowledged the outstanding professionalism and determination of his team at Yachting Pages. “Without such a dedicated team who travel throughout the world selling and promoting the benefits of Yachting Pages, the copies we print would not have risen from 25,000 in 2004 to the 100,000 we will print for the 2009/10 issue.”
Yachting Pages won the award on the advice of the Prime Minister after examination by an Advisory Committee composed of leading individuals from the industry, commerce, trade unions and government. The award will be formally conferred on the company in the summer by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol, Mrs Mary Prior MBE acting in her capacity as the Queen’s local representative.
Thank you to all our loyal clients and readers who have helped to contribute towards the success of the publications over the years. Without you this award would not have been possible.
