Diverse Projects launches yacht support vessel concept

New Zealand based company Diverse Projects, has recently announced its latest yacht support concept vessel Atlas, bringing together features of support vessels already in service.

Designed by a team with previous experience in converting commercial vessels into superyacht support vessels, the Atlas superyacht support concept boasts advanced naval architecture and is ready to be built on request.

John Vitali from Diverse Projects said, “We have been very fortunate to see both the benefits and shortcomings of what the incumbent industry can offer. With the knowledge that owners are wishing to push the duration of their voyages to more remote places, while still being able to cater for every possible activity, we started our design process, not from a blank sheet, but from knowledge of vessels currently in service.”

Atlas has been designed with owners’ most commonly asked extras in mind. Her hull is designed for steadiness and features multiple loading stabilities, whilst weighing under 500 GT.

Lara Bjorklund from Diverse Projects, continued, “After a number of iterations with our chosen design office, which has one of the most efficient hull form databases, and thousands of hours of design work, we firmed on the platform which is now Atlas.”

The Atlas yacht support vessel package offers an efficient, stable, DP1, high load carrier with options to add on modules like helidecks, large A-frame, tender ramp, submarine garage, media/science containers and the team is ready to start work on an Atlas project immediately.

Having been designed specifically for purpose, Diverse Projects claim Atlas will be a very efficient high load carrier of both liquid and deck cargo platforms.
