Beneteau Group has announced that former Gulf Craft boss Erwin Bamps has been named chief executive of Prestige Yachts.
Over the last 16 years Bamps has been influential in Gulf Craft’s development, resulting in his appointment as chief executive in 2014. He left the major Middle East boat manufacturer in June this year.
Bamps began his career with a Belgian electronics engineering firm in Asia. He later joined Gulf Craft in 2002 as the head of its industrial and commercial operations and soon after became chief executive.
In his new role at Prestige, Bamps will report to the general manager of Jenneau and Prestige, Jean-Paul Chapeleau.
Bamps will be in charge of the brand’s presence in Europe and North America, as well as leading its development in the Middle East and Asia.
Chapeleau commented on Bamps appointment, “I firmly believe that Erwin's industrial, sales and communications expertise, his leadership and his knowledge of the highly exclusive large motor yachts market will enable him to achieve these goals.”
Founded nearly 30 years ago, Prestige has 13 motor yacht models including the Flybridge and S lines.
