Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show nearly ready to reveal $20M renovation

With the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show a few weeks away, Pier 66 Marina at Hyatt Regency, where the boat show will partly hosted, is ready to unveil the final phase of its 20 million dollar renovation.

Phase one of the upgrade to its yachting centre is already complete with the second phase expected to be finished by 20th October 2014. The new marina will accommodate up to 16 yachts from various sizes up to 150ft., up from six prior to the redesign.

Among the other renovations to Pier 66 will be new bulkheads, a new Marinetek floating dock and a new electrical infrastructure equalling more than 3,600 linear feet of parallel dockage and fixed docks. The old electrical system is being replaced with new power distribution.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will be kicking off its 55th year this October and, as always, will attract thousands of marine enthusiasts and boat lovers to view superyachts, fishing boats, and seafaring vessels of every kind.
