Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
FUCHS Fördertechnik AG, member of the Deutsche Yachten, Superyachts Germany working group, can now perform blasting, painting and drying operations in-house due to the expansion of its site in Oststeinbek near Hamburg.
The site has been equipped with a new hall to meet the demands of the latest surface technologies. This includes a blasting booth as well as a paint and drying booth. Two overhead cranes each have load capacities of 2x8 tonnes. These, together with a freely maneuverable platform truck, ensure that components measuring up to 14x5x4 meters and weighing up to 20 tonnes can be safely transported, blasted and coated.
The unit is operated by the experienced FUCHS staff members, and according to the company, ‘it meets the highest quality standards depending on the surface finish, application and sector’. For this, they have implemented the ISO 9001 quality management system, certified by DNV GL.
With the expanded site, the company is able to strengthen its maxim “everything under one roof”. Even with customised crane systems such as jib cranes for life rafts, gantry cranes, deck cranes and telescopic cranes for tenders, the design, production, quality control and approval all come from a single source.
