Greece opens its borders to yachts and tourists

According to the Greek government and the Greek Ministry of Tourism, Greece opened its borders with some new regulations starting on 14th May 2021. These guidelines are in place to protect tourists and citizens and help slow the spread of COVID-19.

From 14th May, yachts may enter any Schengen country, with guests, either fully vaccinated for more than 14 days, or with a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours. Passengers entering Greece must complete a Passenger Locator Form prior to arrival.

The countries from which entry is allowed, under the aforementioned conditions, without the requirement for subsequent self-isolation are: EU & Schengen Area countries, USA, UK, Israel, Serbia, UAE, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Rwanda, Singapore, the Russian Federation, North Macedonia, Canada, Belarus, Bahrein, Qatar, China, Kuwait, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia.

Captain Mike Economou, CEO of MBL Luxury Yachting Services, a Greek yacht agent, said, “We at MBL are taking all the necessary measures to protect everyone’s health in compliance with all the Greek health regulations regarding COVID-19. We are feeling optimistic about this season and hope that with the new regulations, all yachts can feel safe that the Greek government is taking all the measures to keep Greece as a safe destination. According to the latest announcement by the Greek government, all habitants of the Greek islands will be fully vaccinated by the end of June. We now welcome all yachts to travel within Greek waters.”
