Heesen Yachts unveiled new 50m steel-hulled full-displacement superyacht Project Maia, at a press conference yesterday (9th March).
Due to be delivered in 2018, Project Maia features previous collaborators, with interior design from Reymond Langton Design, and exterior styling by Clifford Denn Design. Her naval architecture and engineering have been completed by Heesen’s in-house team.
Images of Project Maia reveal a contemporary interior featuring natural tones throughout, broken up with splashes of colour and metallic finishes to a number of furniture pieces. Her name is reportedly inspired by a mercury-manganese star in the constellation of Taurus.
Accommodation is available for ten people in five staterooms, including a master suite on the main deck, and three doubles and a twin room on the lower deck.
Standout features on board include a beach club located aft, with bar, sauna and sound system. There are also two tenders stored on the foredeck, able to be easily deployed.
Project Maia is powered by two MTU 1,000 kW engines, able to reach a top speed of 15 knots and with a cruising range of 3,800nm at a cruising speed of 12 knots.
