Mazu Yachts shortlisted for ‘Concept up to 40m’ award

Mazu Yachts have been shortlisted for the ‘Concept up to 40m’ award in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016’, with their concept of a boat that can be used as ‘a support vessel, a chase boat, a leisure yacht, or tender’.

The concept vessel, named ‘fiftyeight’, is described as operating ‘with the diverse functions’ of several types of vessel. Mazu described her as being designed with a military aesthetic, capable of carrying its own tenders and toys and has a speed of over 40 knots. The vessel could also be used as a tender for a large superyacht. Mazu claim ‘there is no such product in the current market’.

The hull is cold-molded, and features fibreglass and carbon-fibre cloth for added strength on the sides of the hull. Inside, layouts and materials are customised to buyers’ preferences and and any desired colour and style of paint is able to be applied to the vessel.

Also shortlisted for the same award are Mural Yachts’ Green, Corgo Yacht Design’s INARA, Argo Navis’ Horizon 70, and Karen Lynn Interior Designs’ M/Y Monte Cassino.
