ptw Shipyard acquires full ownership of yard

Offered By ptw Shipyard

ptw Shipyard, Spain's premier superyacht refit and repair specialist, has announced that it has acquired the owner stake held by Melita Marine Group, bringing the founders ownership to 100% of the shipyard.

According to Victor Schrijner, RSM Legal Partner and M&A Specialist, the acquisition guarantees a sustainable future for the company. It provides ptw Shipyard founders with full operational control, enabling them to continue to expand their superyacht and mega yacht refit and repair business.

ptw Shipyard’s facilities, just a 50-minute drive south from Barcelona, are fully operational and located conveniently alongside the deep-water Port Tarraco in the port city of Tarragona. These facilities cover an extensive site that spans 15,000sqm, with direct waterfront access, two workshops devoted to Yacht Painting, Carpentry & Interiors, Engineering & Mechanics, Electrics & Systems, as well as access to its Caterpillar® Authorized Sales & Service.

Xavier Mercado, CEO and founder of ptw Shipyard, commented, "This takeover strengthens our position and allows us to be one of the few Spanish shipyards that offers its clients a fully integrated yacht refitting service, under one roof with its own highly qualified trades team and specialised departments.

“We continue to offer our clients all the expertise required for all aspects of a superyacht refit, delivered to the very highest quality in modern facilities.”
