Sanlorenzo range expands after 44 Alloy double sale

Italian yard Sanlorenzo has announced that it will be introducing a new model to its range of aluminium yachts in 2020, after the first two hulls in its 44 Alloy series were sold to repeat clients.

The new models are currently under construction at the yard’s superyacht facility in La Spezia. They were developed in collaboration with the Zuccon International Project design studio.

Massimo Perotti, chairman and chief executive officer of Sanlorenzo, commented, “I love to see the birth of a new model, to pore over drawings with my colleagues, discuss every single detail and improve, improve again until we finally see the real project and finalise it with the owner, who places his dream in our hands. The most satisfying part is to see later in the water exactly what we had in mind.”

To date the yard has only released one drawing of its first 44 Alloy yacht, but the image (above) suggests a distinctive style; there are a number of rectangular portholes and large stretches of glazing cut into the superstructure.

It will include an 8.9m beam and a maximum draught of 2.3m, while the interior volume is believed to be 440GT. Power will come from a twin-screw MTU drivetrain for a top speed of 23 knots and comfortable cruising at 21 knots.

Further details have not yet been disclosed.

Other superyacht projects under development at the Italian yard include the Sanlorenzo 64 Steel, due to hit the water in 2019.
