New Zealand marine company, 37South, has been appointed the preferred supplier to the marine sector for a new conservation initiative in New Zealand, and has signed a memorandum with the government of New Zealand.
According to the Auckland-based yacht agent, the agreement enables guests and owners of yachts visiting New Zealand to get directly involved in nature conservation, with conservation scientists and park rangers that work in these remote, wild places, creating an opportunity to have a total immersion experience with the nature and landscapes in New Zealand.
An agreement has been signed between the government conservation agency, Department of Conservation (DOC), and NGO New Zealand National Parks and Conservation Foundation.
Allan Jouning, founding director of 37South said, “We are very excited by this new opportunity and what it unlocks for our yachting friends and clients visiting New Zealand.”
According to 37South, the DOC manages some of the most spectacular and remote landscapes that exist, which covers one third of New Zealand. 37South also commented that these wild places are draw cards for those in the know and why New Zealand is considered as one of the greatest living spaces on earth.
