Tansu Yachts forms partnership with Sundeck Yachts founder

Turkish shipyard Tansu Yachts has announced that it has signed a deal with entrepreneur Angelo Casartelli, the founder of Sundeck Yachts and the group who recently purchased American brand Luhrs Boats.

This is the first news of Tansu Yachts since the brands bankruptcy was announced in July 2020 by the Istanbul Anatolian 2nd Commercial Court of First Instance, and marks a development in the proceedings. Riza Tansu, founder of the shipyard, and Casartelli founded Tansu Yachts Co. in the U.S. two years ago and are now launching their partnership with new designs.

The partnership has already proven fruitful with two yachts sold and four projects emerging from four different negotiations. The aim of the partnership is to build steel and aluminium yachts between 35 and 60 metres (114 and 196 feet) designed to Tansu's designs, which have thus far been influenced by military vessels.

Moving forward, Tansu Yachts’ vessels will also be finished with Italian style and standard of design, and will be fitted at facilities owned by Casartelli's group. Two new projects, a 40-metre (131-foot) and a 590 GT 50-metre (164-foot) will be officially announced at the Monaco Yacht Show 2021, where the brand’s 39-metre (128-foot) Belka, the last yacht built and launched in 2020 in Turkey, will be on display and available to board.
