These are busy times for Feadship, the Dutch luxury motor yacht builder. Along with the recent launch of its ‘action packed’ superyacht Hampshire II, the Feadship Royal Dutch Shipyard has also won four major industry awards.
These included three trophies at the recent World Superyacht Awards ceremony in Istanbul, Turkey, on 5th May. Feadship was the only brand present to win three prizes which included the prestigious Motor Yacht of the Year award.
Feadship’s fourth award was collected five days later at the Asia Boating Awards, held in Hong Kong on 10th May.
“It is always a great honour to receive such recognition from our industry and media peers,” said Feadship marketing manager Francis Vermeer.
“Moreover, the fact that the awards have been given for yachts in the range from 45 to 88 metres in length is further testimony to the perfect craftsmanship that underpins every Feadship.
“They are also a tribute to our clients who enjoy the entire building experience to such an extent that success is assured.”
The 77.70-metre Tango was honoured with the Motor Yacht of the Year distinction at the World Superyacht Awards.
The judging panel praised Feadship’s Tango for taking “the styling of large superyachts a step forward, combining a new and elegant appearance with supreme engineering and construction,” and complimented its “well-considered layout on both her exterior decks and distinguished interior.”
Tango also won the award for Displacement Motor Yacht of 1,300 to 2,999 GT due to its “bold new exterior style, superb quality of construction, and stylish yet highly comfortable interior spaces.”
Feadship’s third prize was for the 45-metre Helix. The vessel is currently on a ground-breaking tour of the Far East taking in Hong Kong, Hainan, Singapore and Jakarta.
“In a tightly contested class, Helix represents a particularly well-constructed vessel with a wide range of facilities and an interior that appeals to a wide range of tastes,” wrote the judging panel of Helix.
The 87.78-metre Feadship Musashi won the Best Custom Built Yacht category at the Asia Boating Awards, reinforcing the growing importance of Asia’s superyacht market.
Musashi is named after a legendary samurai warrior, with a five-decked design which mixes Japanese design and art deco-style elements.
The award was collected by Feadship’s director Bas Nederpelt who travelled to Hong Kong especially for the event.
