Cantiere delle Marche shares first in-build pictures of Project K42

Cantiere delle Marche has offered an in-build glimpse of its 42.8-metre (140-foot) flagship yacht Project K42, with first photos showing that the hull and superstructure are joined. The Italian yard has now moved on to systems installation and hull verification.

Designed by Studio Sculli after being commissioned by Floating Life in early 2017, Project K42 is a light ice vessel capable of exploring the most remote areas in the world in both safety and comfort.

The hull form was created using a fluid dynamics programme before being tank-tested in Gothenburg, Sweden. As with all yachts in CdM’s K series, the owner is able to select their own superstructure design – although in this instance Floating Life has specified a 75-square-metre superyacht sundeck.

Currently offered for sale, Project K42’s interior includes accommodation for up to 10 guests across five cabins, comprising a master suite, VIP suite, a double and two twins, all with en-suite bathrooms.

Powered by twin 1,450hp Caterpillar diesel engines, she will boast a cruising speed of 14 knots and a range of 5,400nm at 10 knots. Toy storage is plentiful with room for an 11m (36ft) primary tender, a 6m (20ft) crew tender, a Jet Ski and an SUV.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the 35.97m Acciaio 118, which is due to be delivered in 2019.
