Derecktor Shipyards appoints new sales director

Derik Wagner has joined the team as the director of sales for leading company Derecktor Shipyards, bringing with him more than 20 years of global sales, business development and management experience. Established in 1947, Derecktor Shipyards become renowned for excellence in the construction, repair and refit of yachts, workboats, military ships and hybrid vessels.

Wagner will lead the Derecktor Florida sales team as the company prepares to bring its new Fort Pierce location online this summer. Paul Derecktor, president of Derecktor Shipyards, said, “Our company is growing and fortunate to hire someone of Derik’s calibre… we are confident in his ability to lead our sales team as we expand into the mega yacht and large sailing yacht market.”

Prior to joining the team at Derecktor, Wagner has spent more than 15 years in the superyacht industry. This includes leading global sales and business development, and successfully positioning the MTN Satellite Communications as the go-to broadband company, as a result providing the world’s largest superyachts with satellite and internet communication solutions.

Throughout his career, Wagner has been positioned in various leadership roles within the superyacht industry’s most prestigious societies, including International Superyacht Society, US Superyacht Association and the Marine Industries Association of South Florida. Wagner is looking forward to welcoming the global fleet of yachts to Derecktor Florida, as a new member of the executive team.

Wagner, the new executive member of Derecktor Shipyards noted the company to be “a well-respected name within the superyacht industry, most recognised for integrity and quality workmanship… it’s an honor to lead the sales team as we introduce the new Fort Pierce yard to the world. With Dania Beach and Fort Pierce operating in unison, we are positioning Derecktor as the go-to service destination for the world’s largest motor and sailing yachts.”
