USA-based naval architect studio DLBA has presented its newest yacht concept: the 45-metre (147-foot) hybrid explorer yacht 7Oceans.
7Oceans’ hull is based on DLBA’s propriety hull form, creating a ‘quick’ and ‘beautiful’ yacht that is ‘capable of high-speed transits and efficient cruising’.
Key features of the explorer yacht concept include a lower deck beach club, dedicated tender deck and Jacuzzi on the flybridge.
The yacht concept will be powered by a diesel-electric propulsion package, to provide a top speed of 25 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots. She will also present reduced fuel consumption, emissions, noise and maintenance cost.
DLBA has ensured that the explorer yacht concept meets the IMO Tier 4 emission regulations, meaning owners will be able to access unprotected areas without restrictions.
The yacht’s interior comprises sustainable materials such as bamboo and natural leathers, extending its green credentials beyond the engine room.
7Oceans also has the capability to recover heat waste from the generators and use it to deliver hot water. LED lighting runs throughout the yacht, and flat panel satellite antennas lessen the weight on the mast.
Equipped with both Veem gyrostabilisers and a Humphree Active Ride Control interceptor system, the concept reduces roll and motion whilst cruising.
Able to accommodate up to eight guests, the yacht includes two VIP cabins and two singles on the lower deck and an owner’s suite on the main deck. She also comprises crew accommodation for up to nine crew members.
