Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
European Boating Industry (EBI) and the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) have agreed to step up cooperation and jointly shore up nautical tourism worldwide by jointly tackling key industry issues.
Under their new partnership, London-based ICOMIA will provide EBI with technical and other support, notably statistical work or studies. For its part, Brussels-based EBI will share with ICOMIA its bi-monthly monitoring newsletters and information on its EU lobbying and advocacy activities.
EBI is the voice of boat and equipment makers, marinas, charterers and service providers across Europe. It monitors EU lawmaking in areas important to the boating sector such as the environment, R&D, taxation, product and service standards, tourism and trade.
ICOMIA secretary general Udo Kleinitz said EBI and ICOMIA have a high overlap in their European memberships. The partnership accord “is a step to implement better exchange of information and joint action,” he added.
His EBI counterpart, Philip Easthill, said the “renewed and extended partnership agreement with ICOMIA allows for optimal communication channels and cooperation between the work of EBI at EU level and ICOMIA’s global activities.”
