First ever flag selector tool aims to simplify yacht registration

European yacht fiduciary Sarnia Yachts has announced the launch of a new online ‘Flag Selector Tool’, said to be the first of its kind, in order to assist yacht owners during the registration process.

The tool, which can be found on the Sarnia Yachts website, asks the user to answer six questions on the yacht’s principle use and criteria. It then analyses the data to suggest the most appropriate flag state under which to register the yacht.

In a statement, Sarnia Yachts wrote that it “understands that every owner and every yacht is unique, just as every flag state is different. The exclusive tool aims to help yacht owners and intermediaries to understand the different factors affecting flag choice.”

Alasdair Milroy, managing director at Sarnia Yachts commented, “We’re always looking for innovative ways to support our customers and the new Flag Selector Tool is an easy to facilitate the flag registration process.

“Our team of experts is on hand to discuss individual requirements as, of course, there are other factors that must be considered before making a flagging decision. We are confident that this latest launch will create a better understanding of the yacht registration process, ensuring that our customers can get out on the water sooner.”
