Heesen superyacht Masa delivered

Heesen Yachts has delivered its 50-metre (164-foot) superyacht Masa, the eighth superyacht in its 5000 Aluminium Class.

The delivery of the yacht, which was previously known as Project Aster, followed two days of sea trials in “moderate” conditions in the North Sea.

Masa hit the water for the first time in April and was given its name, which means “my diamond”, at a private naming ceremony. The sale of the yacht was first announced in December 2018, with the buyer introduced by Arcon Yachts.

Her exterior design comes from the boards of Omega Architects, with key details including a “pelican beak bow” and “sporty mast”. Her all-aluminium, semi-displacement hull, meanwhile, has been designed and engineered by Heesen’s in-house team. The hull of the yacht is decorated in “a classic Awlgrip white colour scheme”, the yacht noted.

The sub-500GT interior has been designed by Cristiano Gatto and is described as “light and airy”. The décor takes inspiration from the interiors of other yachts in the 5000 Aluminium Class, with key features including silver leaf ceilings, curved furniture and “brushed spruce”.

Accommodation is for a total of 12 guests and nine crew members. Guest accommodation comprises five lower-deck guest suites and a main-deck master stateroom located forward.

Power comes from a pair of MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines for a top speed of 23 knots and a cruising range of 3,100 nautical miles at 11 knots. Heesen revealed that Masa actually exceeded the contractual top speed of 23 knots.
